About Leslie
Leslie McAllister received her BFA in photography from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 1999. In addition to portrait photography, she has also worked in cinematography and illustration. Her film work has been screened at the Santa Fe Film Festival (2006) and in the Short Film Corner at Cannes (2009). Her artwork has been exhibited in Pittsburgh, Santa Fe, and Paris, where she currently works under the wing of internationally renowned conceptual artist Markus Hansen.
Leslie often collides her photography and illustration backgrounds through the use of image editing software, creating worlds that are no longer strictly real, but not quite fictional either. She is interested in exploring the differences between what we remember and what is evidenced, what we imagine and what we see. She is not sure whether or not she believes in objectivity.
